Louie McCarthy – Scarsbrook today confirmed that he would be more then honored to be patron of LWRC; Louie first saw the game at the national league weekend at Stoke Mandeville Stadium and loved seeing the full contact sport at its full, part of Louie’s role will be to help promote the sport in the London and south east of England area along with backing the club development programme.

A little History for members

Originally from the South East London Service Area, Louie was one of the mainstays of London's successful 2004 Junior Academy squad. Such was Louie's form that year that he gained selection for 2004's GB BARLA's U'18 tour to Australia. Louie spent the 2005 season on-loan at Hull FC's Senior Academy, playing a prominent role in Hull's reserve grade Grand Final winning season.

A strong and powerful runner, Louie first came to the attention of many London Rugby League fans in the 2005 Capital Challenge against London Skolars. Louie does the hard yards to good effect and is also an aggressive defender who enjoys putting in the big hits. Also with a good off-load, Louie is a big asset to any team and signing a first grade contract in 2006 gave him an excellent opportunity to take his game on to the next level. 2007 saw Louie come of age, with his powerful runs and tough tackling attracting the attention of many experienced judges.

A regular feature in the first grade side, Louie's 2007 highlights will include his Challenge Cup hat-trick of tries at Pia in the south of France. Relaxing away from rugby, Louie enjoys going to the movies and socialising. His favourite band is System of a Down.
